The Archive-It team welcomes a guest post from our partner Anna Perricci, Web Archiving Project Librarian at Columbia University Libraries. We are looking forward to the results of this grant to improve web archiving processes and access to web archives.
There’s a new grant opportunity starting this fall designed to encourage and support new developments in the broad field of web archiving. This program, made possible by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by Columbia University Libraries/Information Services, will provide financial support for projects to develop tools and applications to improve the process of web archiving or the use of archived web content. A fuller description of this program is provided in the Call for Proposals: https://library.columbia.edu/bts/web_resources_collection/call_for_proposals.html.
If this grant opportunity is of interest, please submit a preliminary proposal prospectus according to the procedures described in the Call for Proposals. The first part of the two-phase application process is a one-page prospectus due September 30, 2013. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Anna Perricci at alp2198@columbia.edu!
